Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluids are designed to replace conventional mineral oils in any environment where there is a fire hazard or where fire could have disastrous consequences.
Applications include diecasters, foundry equipment, smelters,
plastic machinery, furnace mechanisms, glassmaking machinery and forging plants.
All fire resistant hydraulic fluids fall into two categories; those which derive
their fire resistance from the presence of water and those which derive these
properties from their chemical composition. These fluids are identified and
classified by their agreed international designations (International Organization
for Standardization, European Mines Safety Commission 5th Luxembourg Report,
The European Oil Hydraulic & Pneumatic Committee), and by their viscosity
grade.
